Special Educational Needs and Inclusion
Our Inclusion Leader/SENCo is Mrs Claire Adams, she can be contacted via the school office (office@christchurchhanham.org.uk / 01454 867145)
Our success as a learning community is based on the core principle that every child matters and that learning should match their personal needs and aptitudes. As a team, we are committed to providing high quality education to every child and supporting children to overcome any barriers to learning that they may face.
We are a friendly, inclusive school who aim to identify children’s strengths and difficulties early (including academic, social, emotional and physical needs) and work alongside parents/carers and the child themselves to find the best way to support them to reach their full potential.
Some children with more complex Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEN/D) may require an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and some children require external agency input in order to best support them. Our SENCo works alongside parents and carers to ensure that the appropriate provision is organised and will support parents to access what their child needs.
Our SEN/D Policy and Information Report (found below) have been written in collaboration with governors, parents/carers and members of staff and is reviewed at least annually.
