Christian Distinctiveness
At Christ Church Hanham, our vision and values is rooted in our Christian ethos and distinctiveness. Our Christian character is evident in all aspects of school life, linked to our values curriculum.
Through consultation with all stakeholders, we agreed on six core values which underpin our vision; our values guide all members of our school community and set the expectation for our every interaction and the way we conduct ourselves. Although our values are rooted in the Bible, we have selected these six because they are values for life and for all of us- regardless of faith or background. Our values guide us to always be the best human beings we can be in order that we can give our best self to help others.
Our Values
Each term, we focus on one value through Collective Worship, story, song and class learning. Our values are introduced through a key Bible story which acts as a window to the world for our children to engage with and explore. Each week in our Celebration Assembly, children nominate their peers for showing and living out our value.

Home-School Values Challenge
At the start of each term, we launch our termly value with our Home-School Values Challenge. This provides our children with an opportunity to work with their family to reflect on the meaning of our value by engaging with the values activity cards. Each challenge asks our children to produce a creative response to a key aspect of the value; these are shared in the classrooms and our whole school values display in the hall. This task provides the foundation for learning during the rest of the term.

Festivals and Services
Throughout the year, our school family takes part in key festivals, services and moments of reflection. During these special times, we come together and draw upon our Christian values to learn, reflect and respond, both individually and collectively. We are proud of our strong and supportive relationship with Reverend Steve and Christ Church where the majority of our services and celebrations take place.
