Food and Drink

We help our pupils acquire the skills and knowledge to make healthy choices and set a good example by offering healthy food to all pupils and staff.

Our Aims:

  • To ensure pupils are well nourished at school, and that every pupil has access to safe, tasty and nutritious food.
  • To ensure that pupils have easy access to a safe drinking water supply during the school day.
  • To encourage food provided from home for consumption at school meets the same standards as food provided by the school.
  • To make the provision and consumption of food an enjoyable, social and safe experience.
  • To ensure that food provision in the school reflects the ethical and medical requirements of all pupils at the school.

Our School Lunch Provider: Aspens

Education catering specialist Aspens has received the top accolade for its school meals – the Soil Association’s Gold Food for Life Catering Mark. The Catering Mark recognises food providers who are serving fresh, healthy meals, which are free from harmful additives and trans fats.

Aspens source all of their perishable supplies from regional and local farmers and producers within a 50 mile radius of the school. Their product specifications ensure that the goods they use are of excellent quality British farm assured meat and poultry to ensure quality and ethical production methods are used. Fruits and vegetables are grown locally and their menus incorporate organic and fair trade items as standard. More of the food they provide is made and baked fresh each morning in school. They will also provide a salad cart, packed lunches, jacket potatoes and hot school dinners so that the children will have a greater range of choice.

Paying for school dinners will be available online. We will be using SIMS Agora online paying system for school dinners. For more information please see the school office.

Please do not bring nuts into school
